Detailed Itinerary


Day 1 - Your Canada Vacation Package Begins - Arrive in Halifax
Arrive in Halifax, Nova Scotia (New Scotland) where you will be greeted by your private car driver for your transfer to downtown Halifax.

Day 2 - Double Decker Tour of Halifax
Halifax is a bustling port with a colorful history and you have 2 full days to explore the city. On day 2 climb aboard a double decker bus and view the city in style as you cruise through the historic city. Site highlights are Spring Garden Road area, Citadel Hill National Historic Site, and the Maritime Museum of the Atlantic, famous for its poignant collection of artifacts from The Titanic .

Day 3 - Explorer Halifax
You have another day to explore Halifax on own. You may wish to relax at your hotel or perhaps take an exhilarating whale watching tour - ask your Fresh Tracks consultant for more ideas!

Tonight you you will finally meet the rest of your group when you attend the evening welcome reception.

Day 4 - To Digby via Peggy's Cove and Lunenberg
Drive along the famous Lighthouse Route to the fishing village of Peggy’s Cove, where you will then enjoy a relaxing breakfast. Visit Lunenberg where you will have the option of either a walking tour or admission to the Fisheries Musuem. After you will continue on to Champlain’s Habitation, Canada’s oldest permanent settlement. Overnight in Digby.

Day 5 - Digby to Moncton
The morning is at your leisure to explore the picturesque fishing port of Digby, the largest scallop fishing fleet in the world. Later you will travel towards Moncton along the lush Annapolis Valley, one of the oldest European settlements, and through Grand Pre, the site that inspired Longfellow’s famous and tragic poem “Evangeline.” Continue past Nova Scotia’s thriving communities of Truro and Amherst as you cross into New Brunswick. Overnight in Moncton.

Day 6 - Moncton to Charlottetown
The journey continues on to Hopewell Rocks, known for its ancient geography and powerful tides. This afternoon continue on to Prince Edward Island, crossing the Conferation Bridge, the world’s longest multi-span bridge. Enjoy a delicious East Coast lobster dinner before checking into your hotel this evening.

Day 7 - Charlottetown & Anne of Green Gables House
This morning is free to explore Charlottetown and the city’s surroundings. This afternoon tour the idyllic countryside and visit Prince Edward National Park, Canada’s smallest, but also one of its most popular national parks. The park is renowned for its white sand beaches, some of which lie at the base of sandstone cliffs over 30 metres high. Your tour also goes to the Green Gables House, famous for being the setting of Lucy Maud Montgomery’s “Anne of Green Gables” novels and the home to the heroine of the series, Anne Shirley. A dinner show is an option this evening!

Day 8 - Charlottetown to Baddeck
This morning you will board a ferry which takes you across the Northumberland Strait entering back into Nova Scotia. Then drive through tranquil scenery and small communities that still celebrate Nova Scotia’s Scottish, Indian and Acadian heritage. Continue into Cape Breton Island through the magnificent highland scenery that surrounds Bras d’Or Lake, and drive to the delightful resort community of Baddeck. This afternoon you will make a stop to visit a fascinating museum dedicated to the life and works of Alexander Graham Bell, the inventor of the telephone. Overnight in Baddeck.

Day 9 - Cabot Trail, Cape Breton Island
Travel along the Cabot Trail into the highland of northern Cape Breton, which is one of the most scenic drives and a highlight of this vacation. The trail runs past lochs and glens settled by Scottish Highlanders and along scenic coastlines settled by Acadians. Meander through rugged Cape Breton Highlands National Park enjoying stunning views of sea-swept headlands,steep cliffs and tranquil beaches. Tonight enjoy a “Farewell to Nova Scotia” dinner.

Day 10 - Baddeck to Halifax
Explore the eastern part of Cape Breton by circumnavigating the great inland sea of Bras d’Or Lake and touring the Fortress of Louisburg. The fortress site is one of the historically most significant locations in all of North America. Children and adults alike enjoy touring the reconstructed buildings, interactive demonstrations by the staff dressed in historical costumes and sampling 18th century cuisine. Continue along the shores of Bras d’Or to the mainland as your group makes their way back to Halifax.

Day 11 - Your escorted Maritimes tour comes to an end
Say goodbye to the new friends you made on this tour and Atlantic Canada today as your trip comes to an end. A private transfer will take you to Halifax airport for your flight home.
