Day 1 – Arrive in Niagara on the Lake – Your Canadian Railway Vacation Begins
Arrive in the bustling metropolis of Toronto and get ready to enjoy your exciting Canadian adventure. Travel directly to the charming town of Niagara on the Lake, located on the shores of Lake Ontario and surrounded by flowers and rolling vineyards. Get settled in your warm, welcoming accommodation and then head out to explore the town.

You have travelled a long way today, and we want to make sure your vacation is off to the best start! Take delight in cuisine inspired by locally sourced products from the fertile Niagara region. Day 2 – Niagara Falls or Niagara Wine Tasting
What inspires you more today - a chance to sip some of the region’s finest wines or a glimpse at a world-famous waterfall?

2 options from which to choose for exploring the Niagara region.

• Option 1: Niagara Falls Tour
On a small bus, venture to picture postcard Niagara Falls. Visit all the highlights of the area - The Upper Rapids, Niagara Horseshoe Falls, the American Falls and Table Rock. Also included is a thrilling ride on the world famous Hornblower (formerly the Maid of the Mist). This tour also includes a buffet lunch.

• Option 2: Niagara Wine Tour
Travel the lush rolling green wine country in the Niagara Peninsula on this delightful wine tour. You will visit two renowned Niagara wineries and enjoy a wine tasting as well as a tour of each winery. This tour also includes lunch at a charming eatery on the Niagara Parkway.

Day 3 – Onward to Toronto
As you travel back to the ‘big city’ this morning, the funky and colorful neighborhoods of Toronto are waiting to be explored. Spend the day at your leisure and discover what lies behind Toronto’s famous skyline. From a visit to the bustling St. Lawrence Market to the many vibrant neighborhoods this city has to offer there is no shortage of things to see.

This evening go up the CN tower and enjoy an unforgettable three course dinner combined with an outstanding revolving view of Toronto more than 350 metres (1,150 ft) below. Don’t forget to plan some extra time before your meal to enjoy the glass floor outdoor terrace. Overnight in Toronto.

Day 4 – VIA Rail’s Corridor to Ottawa
Wake up in the exciting atmosphere of Toronto and enjoy a day tour of this vibrant metropolis. On this adventure, you will see some of the city highlights, including the Casa Loma, the CN Tower, the shores of Lake Ontario, Yorkville and the Eaton Centre.

In the afternoon, your train journey along the shores of Lake Ontario will begin. Relax in the comfortable VIA rail train as you travel through thick forests, across rushing rivers, through quaint villages and past grain towers and old barns. Stay overnight at a lovely hotel in Ottawa.

Day 5 – In Ottawa – Canada’s Capital City
The federal capital of Canada has plenty to explore. Check out the priceless masterpieces at the National Art Gallery and the fascinating historical displays at the Museum of Civilization and the Canadian War Museum.

• Option 1: Private Sightseeing
Catch all the highlights of Canada’s national capital. See the Parliament Buildings, embassies, universities and museums. Check out the Royal Canadian Mint, the National Gallery of Canada, the Museum of Civilization, the residence of the Prime Minister and the National Arts Centre. You will drive through scenic gardens and parklands and along the Rideau Canal.

• Option 2: Walking Tour
If touring by vehicle or bike doesn’t appeal to you - why not take a leisurely stroll around Ottawa on this guided walking tour that takes in Parliament Hill, The National War Memorial, Sparks Street, Major’s Hill Park, The Byward Market and other major points of interest.

Day 6 – Train to Montreal
Say goodbye to historic and cultured Ottawa and relax in your comfortable seat on the train as it takes you across the border into Quebec. Watch huge expanses of rolling farmland dotted with small villages roll past your window while you enjoy the atmosphere on the train - sip a coffee, chat with friends or catch up on your reading.

Arrive in the thriving city of Montreal, a bilingual metropolis rich in art and culture. Take some time to wander the cobblestone streets of the Old Town, watch the street performers or go shopping. Stay overnight in Montreal.

A unique meal opportunity located out of the old port in Montreal, sit back and enjoy Nordic cuisine whilst sailing down the St. Lawrence River. Not only do you get a unique perspective on the city of Montreal, you also get to indulge in rich and distinct cooking with ingredients such as Nordic Berries, winter cereals, wild plants and boreal essences. This fresh and authentic approach to cooking guarantees a memorable evening where all your senses are awakened! Day 7 – Tour Montreal
Montreal is a unique and fascinating city. It is the only French-speaking major city in North America and it brings together cultural influences from all over the world. The choice is yours today.

• Option 1:
Hop on/Hop off Bus Tour
Hit all the snapshot stops along this route that takes in landmarks including the Notre Dame Basilica, Bonsecours Market and Mont Royal Park. You oversee your itinerary and can hop on and hop off as much as you like for the full day!

• Option 2: Montreal Highlights by Bike
A 3-hour tour by bike that takes in major sights and neighborhoods. Hear interesting snippets on histories and anecdotes about the areas you visit. Of course, you’re going to build up an appetite, and this tour takes you to a farmer’s market where you can indulge in a delicious picnic topped off with a pastry or ice-cream.

• Option 3:
Walking Food Tour
Explore ‘The Main’ – Canada’s answer to The Lower East Side, where you will find culinary masterpieces of French, British, Chinese, Eastern European, Italian, Portuguese, Spanish, Latin American and North African Heritage. As well as trying some tasty morsels, this tour tells the story of the arrival of these groups of immigrants, their roots and the communities they formed in Montreal. Visit landmarks, ethnic grocers, delis and specialty shops, lunch counters and mom & pop spots along the way. A tour for those who enjoy experiencing a city like a local and getting off the beaten path.

In the afternoon, you can take your time and explore Montreal at your leisure – enjoy the lively ‘joie de vivre’ atmosphere. Relax in a sidewalk cafe on Rue St. Denis to sip gourmet coffee while doing some “people watching.” Overnight in a Montreal hotel.

Day 8 – Montreal to Quebec City
Quebec City is one of the oldest cities in Canada and it was fought over by the French and English in the early days of Canadian history. Today you will travel on the train from Montreal to Quebec City, a journey that will take you past the pretty town of Cap-de-la-Madeleine.

When you arrive in Quebec City you will almost feel like you have made it all the way to Europe, as the cobbled streets and stone buildings have an old-world atmosphere. Admire the mountains on the horizon, peruse lovely local shops and galleries and discover Quebec City’s charms.

Day 9 – Quebec City
Spend a full day discovering Quebec City’s French Canadian culture. Marvel at the beautiful architecture of the fortified city, visit historic sites commemorating the battles between French and English, and discover the many quirky local shops and galleries.

Today you have 3 options to choose from to help you enjoy Quebec and the surrounding area to the fullest.

• Option 1: Quebec Bus Tour
Spend the day discovering Quebec City’s French Canadian culture. From your comfortable seat, marvel at the beautiful architecture of the fortified city, visit historic sites commemorating the battles between French and English, and enjoy a delightful sightseeing bus tour to experience this unique city.

• Option 2: Private Military Walking Tour
A great option for history buffs, this tour allows you to discover Quebec City’s role as a military city and learn how various conflicts and sieges have shaped the 400-year-old capital. Visit the Citadel and its associated museum to hear of soldiers’ testimonies, and view photos and videos of various conflicts that the Royal 22e Regiment has been involved in since its creation in 1914. From July to the beginning of September you may also see the changing of the guard. Visit the Plains of Abraham where the well-known battle took place between the French and British Armies in 1759.

• Option 3: The Food Tour – Canadian Signature Experience
So confident are the folks that run this tour – that they simply called it ‘The Food Tour’ – the only food tour you will need to take! Ready your taste buds, because this tour covers seven different venues, and you will sample about 15 different products. Expect to try food of French Canadian origin at venues named Le Tournebroche (organic rotisserie), La Buche (Traditional Quebecois Cuisine) and Creperie le Billig (Crepes) and
Le Moine Échanson (Organic wine).

Day 10 – Departure
Your Canadian train journey might be coming to an end, but the memories that you have made on your trip will last forever. Say goodbye to the friends you have made on the journey and head to Quebec City Airport to catch your flight home.
